Formosa Taffeta Co., Ltd. obtained a Carbon Footprint Verification Statement for 24 product categories, recognizing the company's effort in protecting the environment.
The certificate was presented by the issuer, the Taiwan branch of BSI Pacific Ltd. (bsi).
The announcement was made after Formosa Taffeta recently launched a company-wide verification project through its Lean Team and Research & Development Center, an effort that won the support of the Taiwan Textile Research Institute (TTRI).
Formosa Taffeta followed the PAS 2050:2011 standard while conducting the verification, which investigated direct and indirect total greenhouse emissions from products' start to finish. The goal was to help the company improve energy management, maximize efficiency, enhance energy use and lower carbon emission.
Formosa Taffeta passed the highest number of tests in one single verification procedure, an achievement that TTRI said would help upgrade Taiwan's textile industry.
"After Formosa Taffeta obtained the ISO14064-1 Greenhouse Gases Verification Statement from bsi and TAF back in the beginning of the year, it again demonstrated its resolve to help clients achieve sustainable growth," TTRI said.
"Together, TTRI and Formosa Taffeta are committed to a slowdown of global warming. We strive to cut back pollution and waste and seek to make sure that Formosa Taffeta products will help downstream operators save the environment, too."
