FTC AQUAOFF® Supercritical CO2 Dyed Fabric


According to statistics, the average water consumption of each person per day in the world amounts to 200-300 liters. However, normal dyeing plants have to consume 3,150,000 liters of water to dye about 700 thousand yards of cloth, which equals to the water consumption needed by 16,000 people per day.

In order to improve the dilemma of such a great amount of water consumption, Formosa Taffeta introduced AQUAOFF* Supercritical CO2 technology.

The Supercritical fluid's property can dissolve dyes, taking them to the surface of the fabric for dyeing. The whole process takes place in the Supercritical CO2 Vessel, and not a single drop of water is required.


Effectiveness of AQUAOFF* Supercritical CO2:
  1. No water is required.
  2. No waste water, reducing the emission of CO2.
  3. No need of dyeing auxiliaries.
  4. Saving energy (heating in the dyeing procedure consumes less energy and there is no need of drying after dyeing.)
